Why do you need a Home and Pet Carer?
- To avoid the distress of putting your valued pets into a kennel or cattery.
- To deter burglars
- To look after your plants
- To save you the bother of shutting up your house
- To minimise the effects of storm damage, flooding, power failure, burst pipes etc.
- To take messages, forward mail, oversee trades people etc.
Your pets, particularly the older ones, will be much happier being cared for in the familiar surroundings and comfort of their own home.
Dogs are exercised for 1/2 hour twice daily, or more or less frequently according to your requirements. Pets will be fed their usual food at their usual time and given their usual treats and cuddles! In short they will be kept to their normal routine as much as possible, which they will greatly appreciate.
With this in mind you can have a worry free holiday returning to happy, healthy pets and a warm, well cared for home.
How does our service work?
Write or telephone us with details of your pets and the dates when you plan to be away. Within a few days we will put you in touch with a suitable Carer in your area. The Carer will then visit your home and be introduced to your pets. This gives you a good opportunity to see how the pets take to the Carer and vise-versa. At this stage you are under no obligation to proceed any further with the arrangements other than to pay the Carer travel expenses. However we are sure that you will find the Carer most suitable and will want to make a firm booking. To reserve the Carer simply complete the booking form and send it to us along with the deposit.
We pride ourselves on providing a very thorough and personal service. The details which you have provided on the booking form are transferred to a checklist/duty sheet which is sent to the Carer. When the Carer arrives for the assignment he/she will run through this document with you. It should contain all the essential information about your pets and home, and a contact telephone number of a relative or friend.
We will contact the Carer shortly before the assignment and again shortly after the start to ensure that everything is running smoothly. Thereafter we keep in regular contact with the Carer during the assignment.
During the Assignment
The pets will be cared for according to your instructions. The house will be kept clean and tidy at all times. Messages will be taken, mail can be forwarded, plants watered, deliveries accepted etc. Carers may, by arrangement, mow the lawn or do odd jobs around the house.
The Carer will wait until you return.
If requested the Carer will have stocked up with fresh provisions such as bread and milk.
Cancellation
There are no cancellation charges up to 14 days before an assignment. However please note that the deposit is non returnable. Cancellation within 14 days of the assignment will incur a cancellation charge of 25% of the total cost of the service up to a maximum of £50.00
Early Return
Should you return early from your holiday Home and Pet Care will reimburse the balance of the unused days less administrative costs.
